For the last few weeks South Bengal is receiving good amount of monsoon rain. Though the rain is playing spoilsport for urbanites and causing all sorts of difficulties - pot holed & water logged roads, erratic public transports among others, the bengal farmers are more than happy. This is the perfect condition to sow the paddy saplings of Aman variety. On last Saturday, as I rode the bus home, I saw plenty of women with colorful dresses silently sowing saplings in the vast swathe of muddy paddy fields on both side of National Highway 2. An wonderful view indeed!
So on Sunday, equipped with my DSLR, I drove across NH2 and took some photos of the agricultural Bengal!
And they posed for me!
